crochet ˈkrəʊʃeɪ,ˈkrəʊʃi/ noun A handicraft in which yarn is made up into a textured fabric by means of a hooked needle. "a crochet hook"

I first learned how to crochet when I was just in grade 3. I always saw my Mum crocheting hats, flowers, jumpers and others as a way to earn extra income. As a curious little girl I was, I wanted to learn (mainly to earn money to buy candies haha). So I asked my Mum to teach me, which she willingly did. She made me do chains for ages until my tension got better. The first thing she taught me to make was a cute little flower and then she patiently taught me how to make a summer hat.

Back then, the only pattern I followed was my Mum’s handwritten made up terms (i.e. sc was called “take one”, hdc was “take two” haha). Up to this day, I am still learning and exploring how to read patterns, different techniques and styles.
